Treasure Hub

I am a huge costume and history nerd, so having the opportunity to visit the treasure hub was an unexpected joy. Being able to learn about historical garments, particularly the militia and police uniforms was something I personally really appreciate, from the exquisite detailing of the quilting inside the coats to the tiniest button details, everything in the uniform had purpose or symbolism. I had very interesting chats with the historians there about how the garments are kept and how they are donated, unfortunately the garments don’t often come with a lot of information about where they came from and who owned them.

The Treasure Hub is located in Northfield, Aberdeen and makes for a really interesting visit. The people who work there are highly knowledgeable about their artifacts and are happy to entertain questions and queries. I strongly recommend visiting them or their website which i have linked below.
